Third-Party Tools

The Windows edition of Irie Pascal includes a text editor and an Integrated Development Environment (IDE), so there is less need for users of the Windows edition to use third-party text editors/IDEs. However users of the other editions of Irie Pascal, or persons who prefer to use their favorite text editor/IDE may find the following information useful.

The following is a list of text editors/IDEs that appear to be compatible with Irie Pascal. Click on the links (i.e. the names of the text editors/IDEs) for more information on how to configure them to work with Irie Pascal. Even if your favorite text editor or IDE does not appear on this list you might still find it useful to see how to configure other text editors/IDEs to work with Irie Pascal.

In the list below the following information is given about each tool:

  • The name of the tool
  • The type of tool
  • The kind of distribution license used by the tool (Freeware - No fee required to use, Shareware - Free to evaluate but fee required to continue to use, Commercial - Fee required before use)
  • Whether the tool can launch the compiler and capture the output messages.
  • Whether the tool can parse the compiler messages (e.g. jump from an error message to the line in the code that contains the error).
